Donation - FAQ

Q: Is my donation secure when sending it through the internet?
Hyper Text Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) is the secure version of HTTP, the protocol over which data is sent between your browser and the website that you are connected to. The 'S' at the end of HTTPS stands for 'Secure'. It means all communications between your browser and the website are encrypted. HTTPS is often used to protect highly confidential online transactions like online banking and online shopping order forms.

Web browsers such as Internet Explorer, Firefox and Chrome also display a padlock icon in the address bar to visually indicate that a HTTPS connection is in effect.
Q: Why should I donate to the Phillip J. Waldrup Foundation?
The Phillip J. Waldrup Foundation is a small non-profit foundation with a huge mission … to help individuals here and abroad who are in need, but do not have the financial resources or means to meet those needs. Our founder and CEO, Ella Waldrup, personally vets each project to determine if there are truly needs or not and that the funds will go to where they are suppose to go to. That’s where you can help us. If you find our foundation is an organization built upon integrity, please give what you can today. Those who we support, thank you.

Q: What does my donation fund?
1. PROJECTS ~ We have several projects we support which you can find on our OUR PROJECTS page. While we support some projects only one time, most of our projects are on-going. Regardless, once we begin supporting a project, each project has strict guidelines that must be adhered to. Before we begin to support any project, first our CEO and founder, Ella Waldrup, personally visits and vets the organization. Once we are satisfied with the vetting process, we determine the amount of funds we will commit to. After we make a commitment, the organization we are supporting must present photos and/or receipts where the funds went to before any additional funds will be released. Doing so makes sure that the funds are going to where our commitment is.

2. ADMINISTRATION ~ A very small percentage of every donation we receive goes towards Administration costs. While we keep our staff to a minimum, we do have additional operating expenses, (i.e.; rent, phone, internet, website, travel expenses, salaries, etc.). Our commitment is to keep our administration costs as low as possible so most of the funds will go to helping others.

Q: Can I make a donation on-line with a Credit/Debit Card or by PayPal?

Q: Why is there a minimum donation for credit cards?

If you wish to donate an amount less than our minimum on-line requirements, please by all means you can send us a check.

Our preference is for checks in U.S. dollars, drawn on U.S. bank accounts. Checks in currencies other than U.S. dollars, or from bank accounts outside the U.S., can be very expensive for us to process, which reduces the value of your gift. If you do not have a U.S. bank account, you can maximize the value of your donation by giving via Credit/Debit Card or PayPal.

Q: Can I make a donation with a Wire Transfer?
NO, not at this time.

Q: Can I donate to the Phillip J. Waldrup Foundation on a monthly or quarterly basis?

Once you arrive on the donation page, you will be asked to select your choice of support plan: one-time, monthly, or quarterly support.

Q: How can I get my company to match my donation?
Check with your Human Resources department for specific information on whether they have a matching program and how to request a matching donation.

Q: Are my donations tax-deductible?
Yes. The Phillip J. Waldrup Foundation is a state of Texas nonprofit public charity that is tax-exempt under section 501c3 of the Federal Internal Revenue Code. Our Federal Tax ID Number will appear on your tax receipt you receive from us. Donations are tax deductible on US income only.

Q: Can I give you a targeted or restricted donation to be used for something very specific?
No, for the most part. While you can select a project you wish to support, we do reserve the right to use those funds in other areas if the goal is not met by the deadline date and will redirect your donation to a project where the funds are most needed. We may consider a restricted gift on a case-by-case basis. If you are interested in making a restricted gift, please contact us at: donations@pjwfglobal.org

Q: Can I donate material things other than money?
No. The cost of receiving, storing, inventorying and shipping material items is very costly. The funds are better spent by purchasing those material needs in the area of need. Besides, most people do not understand the true needs of a project like we do. By sending material needs to a project we have no control of how those items will be distributed. Many times those items are received and sold on the black market so those who have the need never receive.

Q: Will I have the opportunity to view a project’s progress I am supporting?
Yes. As each project progresses, we will update each project webpage for review. Please keep in mind that in remote villages there is no internet connection and those taking the photos and giving progress reports will be delayed until they can get to a place with internet connection.

Q: What if I still have further questions?
Please feel free to send us an email to: info@pjwfglobal.org or call our Administration Office at 832-925-8650 and we can assist you over the phone.
